Facelift at a Young Age: Today, the world has become quite modern, and people are trying new things to look beautiful. Let us explain why people are getting addicted to facelifts at a young age.
Plastic surgery at a young age
Young People Plastic Surgery: A look at social media today shows posts of people in their 20s and 30s getting mini facelifts, ponytails, or deep plane lifts. While facelifts were once considered exclusive to the elderly and wealthy, younger people are now getting them in large numbers. Previously, these procedures were often done in secret, but now they are no longer a secret. Many celebrities have openly spoken about their facelifts. Many even share before, after, and recovery photos on social media.
But the question is, why are people so desperate to change their appearance at such a young age? Has this world of online appearance made us so insecure that we're willing to spend thousands and even lakhs of rupees to achieve our perfect image? Or is it that after repeated Botox and fillers, people now find a facelift the next logical and long-lasting step? Let us explain.
Why are people changing their appearance?
According to a BBC report, Emily from Canada underwent a facelift at the age of 28. She says she underwent the surgery to achieve a snatched look: a sharp jawline, high cheekbones, and fox eyes. Emily explains that she underwent six surgeries at once in Turkey, including a mid-face lift, a lip lift, and rhinoplasty (nose surgery). The surgery experience was quite difficult for her. She said, "I remember the doctor playing my favorite song while I was under anesthesia. I fell asleep, and when I woke up, my face was in pain and I saw a new face in the mirror." The pain and swelling persisted for several weeks, and it wasn't until about six months later that she regained feeling in her cheeks.
Why did the trend increase?
According to data from the British Association of Aesthetic Plastic Surgeons, the number of people undergoing facelifts in the UK has increased by 8 percent in the past year. Data by age has not been released, but experts say that younger people are increasingly opting for the procedure. BAAPS President Nora Nugent explained that there are several reasons for this, one of which is the trend of weight loss medications. Rapid weight loss can cause loose facial skin. Therefore, many people opt for facelifts to achieve a firmer appearance. Furthermore, new techniques have made facelifts much safer and more natural than before. However, doctors emphasize that facelifts are not a simple procedure. They are a major surgery that should only be performed by an experienced, registered plastic surgeon.
Experts agree that getting a facelift under the age of 40 is still considered very uncommon. It can have serious side effects, such as blood clots, infection, nerve damage, or hair loss. In the UK, a facelift surgery costs between 15,000 and 45,000 pounds, while some clinics offer it for as little as 5,000 pounds. Experts advise anyone considering surgery should seek complete information and only have the procedure performed by a certified surgeon.
