Jabalpur (Madhya Pradesh): A woman died in an attempt to stop a violent fight between the two families at a village in Madhya Pradesh's Jabalpur district on Friday. Six others have sustained severe injuries during the clash.
The deceased has been identified as Preeti Bai. She died after a stick hit her head while she was trying to stop the fight in Madhpipariya village near Patan, Jabalpur.
According to information, the incident happened in Madhpipariya village of Patan, Jabalpur. A fight broke out between two old rivals-- Bhagwat Singh and Giran Singh – on Friday. The situation escalated when families of both sides also joined and started attacking each other with sticks and swords.
Preeti Bai, their neighbour, tried to step in and stop the fight. Sadly, she was hit during the clash and died on the spot. She had no involvement in the argument and was only trying to calm the situation. Six other people were severely injured in the fight, including Bharat Singh, Jeevan Singh, and Kalu Singh. All of them were rushed to the Government Hospital in Patan for treatment.
As soon as she fell dead, all the accused involved in the case fled. Patan police have started an investigation. According to SDOP Lokesh Dawar, the police are searching for the people who caused the violence.
Locals are demanding strict action against the accused. The police have assured villagers that the accused will be arrested and legal action will be taken against them.
