Mumbai: In a span of just two days, three individuals lost their lives in separate road accidents at different locations in Panvel. The police have launched investigations into two of the incidents where the vehicles involved remain unidentified.
The first accident occurred early Thursday on the Mumbra-Taloja road near Navade village. Sultan Abdul Rauf Hasware, a 21-year-old motorcyclist, was fatally struck by an unidentified car around 12:15 a.m. while riding from Taloja toward Panvel. The driver fled the scene, and police are currently trying to trace the vehicle involved, according to Hindustan Times report.
The second fatal accident took place on Friday in Chinchavan village, where 35-year-old pedestrian Saddam Hussain Hullor was hit by an unidentified vehicle. Hullor suffered severe injuries and later succumbed to them. A case has been registered at Panvel City Police Station, and efforts are underway to identify the vehicle and driver.
Later the same day, another tragedy unfolded when 32-year-old Pradeep Chandrakant Kamble died after being run over by a tanker while riding his two-wheeler. Kamble was travelling from Kharghar to Kamothe when the accident occurred on a bridge along the Sion-Panvel highway
In this case, police were able to identify the tanker driver as 46-year-old Vijaypratap Yadav, who has since been booked by the Kalamboli police, as per report.
The back-to-back accidents have raised concerns about road safety and reckless driving in the Panvel region. Police have assured that investigations are ongoing and that necessary action will be taken against those responsible.
