In what will be a clash of Titans at the Durand Cup 2025 quarter-finals, East Bengal and Mohun Bagan will take on one another in the quarter-finals of one of the oldest football tournaments in Asia. Mohun Bagan, who have won a record 17 and East Bengal with the second-most number of 16 will vie for a semi-final spot.
East Bengal had cemented their spot in the quarter-finals even before they faced Indian Air Force in their last group game of the tournament. East Bengal FC still went on to maintain their winning run, thumping the Indian Air Force's side by 6-1. However, East Bengal will arguably face a litmus test against a world-class Mohun Bagan outfit.

Mohun Bagan, meanwhile, had completed a domestic double last season by clinching both ISL Shield and Cup and are now targeting the Durand Cup too. Although Mohun Bagan possess an enviable record, they have injury concerns in the form of Manvir Singh and Kiyan Nassiri, rendering them doubtful for the quarter-final. Defender Tom Aldred also has an injury concern but is expected to feature in the all-important clash.
Nevertheless, Centre-back Alberto Rodriguez has reportedly gained match fitness and could play in the quarter-final. Mohun Bagan FC, NorthEast United FC, Jamshedpur FC, Diamond Harbour FC, Indian Navy FT, Bodoland FC, Shillong Lajong FC and East Bengal FC have made it to the quarter-finals.
