Indore (Madhya Pradesh): A double murder case has come to light where a man, allegedly under the influence of alcohol, stabbed his wife and mother-in-law to death.
The incident occurred on Thursday night in Kirtankhedi village, in Bagli, Dewas. One of the victim died and her post-mortem was conducted. The police began manhunt for the accused and efforts are on to trace him.
As per report, the accused, identified as Sukhlal, allegedly stabbed his wife Sonu (35) multiple times in a fit of rage, leading to her death on the spot. When her mother Rekhabai tried to intervene and save her daughter, Sukhlal attacked her as well, stabbing her.
Despite being grievously injured, Rekhabai managed to run into a nearby field before collapsing. Sukhlal, who lived with his in-laws, fled the scene with two of his three children after the incident.
Family members rushed Rekhabai to a private hospital in Khudel police station area where she succumbed to her injuries during treatment on Saturday. Her body was sent for postmortem at the city’s District Hospital.
Family members said that Sukhlal returned home in intoxicated condition on Thursday night and stabbed his wife 14 times in the stomach, neck and chest. As her mother intervened, he stabbed her too.
