Long before Ahaan Panday made headlines with his breakout debut in Saiyaara, he was already causing a stir—but in his cousin Ananya Panday’s love life. In a candid throwback interview with Galatta India, as shared by Ritz Magazine, Ananya opened up about their dynamic growing up. With just a year’s age gap between them, the two shared many mutual friends, but that didn’t make things easier—especially when it came to her love life.
According to Ananya, Ahaan was an overprotective brother who couldn’t stand the idea of her dating someone. She revealed that he would sometimes act cold or unfriendly toward the boys she liked, and if that didn’t work, he would resort to starting rumours about them. “He’d go around saying things like, ‘Did you hear what that boy did?’” she recalled, adding that she often ended up heartbroken over things that weren’t even true.
Ahaan Panday's Saiyaara success
Fast forward to 2025, and Ahaan Panday is now making waves for a very different reason. His debut film, Saiyaara, directed by Mohit Suri, has officially stormed past the ₹100 crore mark at the Indian box office in just four days. According to early estimates by Sacnilk, the film opened with ₹21 crore on Friday, climbed to ₹26 crore on Saturday, and peaked with ₹35.75 crore on Sunday. While Monday saw a predictable dip, Saiyaara still pulled in a strong ₹22.50 crore, taking the total to ₹105.75 crore India net.
With this milestone, Saiyaara has earned its place among the biggest blockbusters of the year—surpassing the lifetime collections of Akshay Kumar and Ananya Panday’s Kesari Chapter 2 (₹92 crore) and Sunny Deol’s Jaat (₹88 crore). It now stands just behind Salman Khan’s Sikandar (approx. ₹110 crore) and Akshay Kumar’s Sky Force (approx. ₹112 crore), securing the seventh spot on the list of highest-grossing Bollywood films of 2025.
