Two coaches of the Muzaffarpur-Sabarmati JanSadharan Express derailed between Kanpur and Tundla in Uttar Pradesh on Friday, railway officials said. The officials further said that there were no casualties or injuries during the incident, while reports of damage are yet to come in.
The derailment occurred at 4:20 pm in the Kanpur-Tundla section of the Prayagraj Division, affecting train number 15269. Two coaches went off the track, prompting an immediate response from railway authorities.
Railway officials from Kanpur rushed to the site, and restoration work is currently underway to resume normal operations on the route. While the exact cause of the derailment is not yet known, an investigation is likely to be ordered.
