Kartik Aaryan, Triptii Dimri, Vidya Balan, and director Anees Bazmee recently appeared on ‘The Great Indian Kapil Sharma Show’ to promote their horror-comedy film ‘Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3’. A clip from the episode went viral, showing Sunil Grover’s character, Dafli, humorously asking Dimri about her bold scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in the 2023 movie ‘ Animal’.
In the now viral clip, Grover was seen asking Dimri if her intimate scenes with Ranbir Kapoor in the 2023 blockbuster ‘Animal’ were real or filmed. “ Aap ho jo Aminal (Animal) picture mein thi?" The actress said, “Ji main hee thi. Dekha, maine aapne kya kya bola hai mere baare mein." He then goes to ask, “ Yeh jo aapne Ranbir Kapoor ke saath kiya hai, I hope woh sirf shooting thi; aise asli mein toh kuch nahi tha na?"
While Dimri took the grilling in her stride and laughed it off, netizens on Reddit were outraged on her behalf.
This interaction sparked mixed reactions; some viewers criticized Grover and the show's team for making Dimri uncomfortable, while others defended it, noting that Grover’s character is depicted as Ranbir’s wife on the show. Previously, this character also had a mock wedding and suhagraat scene with Ranbir.
Discussions on Reddit revealed that some fans felt Dimri faced these questions because she’s an industry outsider, speculating that such topics might not come up if she were from a film family. One comment noted, “This is why they take advantage of her—she’s an outsider without connections. I’d like to see them bring up this topic with a nepo kid.” Another comment expressed, “This is so disgusting! She handled it gracefully. Even Kapil and Vidya looked a bit concerned about her reaction. You can see it on Kapil’s face. They should stop making such jokes.”
Alongside Aaryan, Dimri, and Balan, Bhool Bhulaiyaa 3 also features Madhuri Dixit Nene, Vijay Raaz, Rajpal Yadav, Sanjay Mishra, Rajesh Sharma, and Ashwini Kalselar.
