Pritam Singh, a prominent politician of Indian origin, is currently the Secretary-General of the Workers' Party (WP) in Singapore. He is also the Leader of the Opposition, a position he has held since its formal establishment in 2020, as per a report by The Times of India.
Born on August 2, 1976, Singh has an academic background in history from the National University of Singapore and a Master of Arts in War Studies from King’s College London. Before entering the political arena, he worked as a lawyer and an author.
Under Singh's leadership, the Workers' Party made history in the 2020 general election, securing 10 out of 93 contested parliamentary seats. This achievement marked the largest opposition presence in Singapore’s parliamentary history, and Singh was appointed the first official Leader of the Opposition.
