Hyderabad (Telangana) [India], October 28 (ANI): The Cyberabad police along with the Special Operations Team (SOT) and excise officials conducted a raid at the farmhouse of businessman Raj Pakala in Janwada, on the outskirts of Hyderabad city and seized a large quantity of foreign liquor and drugs, an official release stated.
21 men and 14 women were present at the location. The officials also recovered seven bottles of foreign liquor, 10 loose Indian liquor bottles, and various gaming-related items.
"Acting on reliable information, the local police, SOT, and Excise officials conducted a raid at the farmhouse of Raj Pakala in Janwada on the intervening night of October 26-27," the release by Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCP) Rajendranagar stated.
All the male individuals were subjected to drug tests. A man identified as Vijay Madduri tested positive for cocaine, after which he was sent to the hospital for a blood test, the release stated.
Subsequently, a case was registered under sections 25, 27 and 29 of the NDPS Act, and sections 3 and 4 of the Telangana Gaming Act in Mokila Police Station against Raj Pakala and Vijay Madduri.
Since the host Raj Pakala didn't obtain an excise license, a case was also registered against him under sections 34 A, 34(1) r/w 9 of the Excise Act by the Excise Taskforce.
Further investigation is underway in the case and more details are awaited. (ANI)
