There are a lot of vacant seats in government engineering colleges in Bihar. In such a situation, this can be a good opportunity for the students. Let us know how many seats are vacant in the state.
This time, the pace of filling seats in government engineering colleges of Bihar has been very slow. Thousands of seats have remained vacant across the state.
There are a total of 13,675 seats in 38 government engineering colleges of Bihar, but even after two rounds of admission on the basis of JEE Main, more than half the seats remained vacant. According to the data, only 6,432 seats were admitted on the basis of JEE Main score, while 7,243 seats are still vacant.
BCECEB i.e. Bihar Combined Entrance Competitive Examination Board had already made it clear that the first two rounds of admission in engineering colleges will be based on JEE Main score.
But when two rounds were completed and half the seats were still vacant, the board decided to conduct its own entrance exam.
The BCECE exam was conducted recently and now admission will be done on the remaining seats on the basis of its merit list. This step became necessary because the capacity of the colleges was not being utilized properly due to a large number of seats remaining vacant.
The admission process based on BCECE score will be done in two phases. The first round will run from August 14 to August 16. During this time, students who get a place in the merit list will be able to get admission.
While the second round, if seats are left after the first round, then the allocation result of the second round will be released on August 22. After this, admission will be done on August 24 and 25.
