JEE Main 2026 Schedule: The National Testing Agency (NTA) has announced the schedule for JEE Main Sessions 1 and 2. According to the official notification, the first session of JEE Main 2026 will be held in January and the second in April. The JEE Main Session 1 exam will be held from January 21 to 30, and the second from April 1 to 10.
The online application process for the JEE Main 2026 Session 1 exam will begin in October 2025, the NTA stated in its notice. However, the exact date in October for the application process has not been disclosed. Online applications for Session 2 will begin in the last week of January 2026.
Exam Cities to Increase
The NTA further stated in its notice that the agency is working to increase the number of exam cities to facilitate the active participation of a larger number of candidates in JEE Main 2026. Additionally, attention is being paid to meeting the needs and requirements of candidates with disabilities appearing for the exam.
Aadhaar Authentication
NTA issued a public notice on September 29, 2025, to alleviate procedural difficulties faced by JEE Main 2026 candidates while filling out the online application form. The primary purpose of issuing this advisory was to support millions of candidates across the country by encouraging timely and accurate updates. NTA will obtain the name, date of birth, gender, photo, and address from UIDAI through Aadhaar authentication. However, since the father/mother/guardian's name is not registered in Aadhaar, candidates will need to enter these details separately in the online application form.
