Paul O'Grady is still earning £63,000 per week over a year after his death

Late Paul O'Grady continued to earn around £63,000-a-week after his death.

The For the Love of favourite was still working right up until he died in March last year, aged 67. And new figures from his firm Buster Productions Ltd - named after his beloved dog - showed it paid £655,000 in Corporation Tax in the year to May. It indicates his income for the 12 months was around £3.3million, while the company is worth £8.5million.

The star, who left £15.5million in his will, founded Buster Productions Ltd in 2001. Buster was the rescue dog who appeared with him on teatime programme The Show until the pooch's death in 2009. Paul's coffin was topped by a wreath in Buster's image after he died from cardiac arrhythmia.

The much-loved presenter paid £341,525 in corporation tax in the year to May 2022 - indicating his income for the 12 months was £1.7million. In 2021, he handed £284,313 to the taxman - pointing to another bumper year for the animal champion.

Hardworking Paul had in recent years appeared in five series of the Blind Date reboot, Paul O'Grady's Great British Escape, and Paul O'Grady's Saturday Night Line-Up. The Birkenhead-born comic also appeared alongside Paul Hollywood, King Charles and , and Ricky Tomlinson in a pre-recorded segment for the opening of the first semi-final of the Eurovision Song Contest 2023, which was hosted in Liverpool. This was to be his final television work before his death.

A final series of For The Love of Dogs that O'Grady was recorded in summer 2022, with its final episode airing in January. has since taken over the show. Paul resigned from Radio 2 in 2022 after becoming fed up at having to share the slot with comic Rob Beckett.

Paul's will included £125,000 to care for his five dogs and £500,000 for Battersea Cats and Dogs Home - the setting for For The Love of Dogs.

The Kent home of the late comedian is currently on the market for £3.5 million. Paul, who rose to fame as thanks to his drag alter ego Lily Savage, bought the property in 1999 and lived there until his death. He lived with his husband, the ballet dancer Andre Portasio, who is selling the house. The sprawling country estate has a grand main house, several outbuildings, a swimming pool and sits on 20 acres of land. Animal lover Paul kept sheep, dogs, pigs, ducks, alpacas, goats and barn owls, as well as hundreds of rescued chickens at the home.
