Borussia Dortmund have confirmed that Jamie Gittens is set to join Chelsea this summer.
football.london understands that Chelsea had a £42m bid rejected earlier this month, but they have since reached a £55million agreement with the Bundesliga club. The 20-year-old - who is set to become the west Londoners' fourth signing of the summer - will sign a seven-year contract at the Blues.
And a move to Stamford Bridge now looks set to be completed imminently. Dortmund released a statement on Thursday evening to confirm the Englishman is set to join Enzo Maresca's team.

"Jamie Gittens' career is exemplary for the development of top talents at BVB," a statement from Dortmund CEO Lars Ricken read on the club's website.
"We discovered Jamie very early, signed him practically for free, continuously developed him in our youth academy, and also offered him playing time at the highest level with the professional team. Jamie has repaid the trust placed in him with commitment, performance, and goals.
"His transfer back to his native England would be extremely valuable to us. We wish Jamie only the very best for his sporting future.
"The talks with Chelsea were challenging, but ultimately we are pleased that we can most likely realize our financial ambitions and then have planning security," said BVB sporting director Sebastian Kehl,
He added: "Jamie is an outstanding player who has given us a great deal of pleasure. He now wants to take the next step in his career at Chelsea, and we wish him all the best and much success."
Gittens will be eligible to join Maresca's side at the Club World Cup, although a deal is unlikely to be completed in time for him to play against Palmeiras in the quarter-finals on Saturday.
