Man United 'to drop Alejandro Garnacho asking price'Former Manchester United scout Mick Brown believes the Reds will be forced to drop their asking price for Alejandro Garnacho with Chelsea in a good position to take advantage. The Blues had an approach knocked back for the Argentinian winger back in January, who is set to leave Old Trafford this summer, and Brown believes Enzo Maresca's side will look to take advantage of that.
The ex-United scout toldFootball Insider: "Man United are in a very tricky position. With Garnacho’s situation, let’s compare it to if you’re trying to sell a car.
“If you go around saying you want to sell it because you’re fed up with it, it’s got all these issues and keeps breaking down, nobody will want to buy it from you. That’s where United are with Garnacho at the moment, saying he’s a bad influence and all of that.
“It’s been well-documented that they want to move him on because he’s had a falling out with Ruben Amorim and he’s not part of the plans. But why would anybody go and pay big money for him, knowing they want him gone?
“So at the asking price Man United are looking for, there isn’t any interest at the moment. They’ve had clubs like Chelsea sniffing around, but they will look at it and think they can get him for cheaper than they were maybe expecting.
“United are in a terrible negotiating position, everybody knows they need to move him on. Clubs like Chelsea will look to take advantage of that, so United might be forced to cut their losses and drop his asking price to match the demand.”
Football.london says: "With Noni Madueke set to leave the club, it's fair to say that Garnacho would be like for like replacement, though it remains to be seen what sort of impact Estevao will have next season. For a respectable fee, Chelsea could benefit from a United sale, though a loan with an option to buy would probably be the best deal to see how Garnacho fares in London."
Bayern 'make enquiry for Chelsea transfer target'The Athleticclaims German giants Bayern Munich have made an enquiry to sign Chelsea transfer target Xavi Simons from RB Leipzig. The Dutch international is understood to be looking for the next step in his career having spent the last two seasons with the Bundesliga outfit.
Though there have not been any negotiations between the two German clubs, Simons has reportedly expressed his desire to leave and the recent injury to Jamal Musiala emphasises Bayern's need for reinforcements. The German club missed out on Florian Wirtz earlier this summer after his move to Liverpool, with Chelsea among those to have been linked with Simons in recent months.
Football.london says: "Simons would be an interesting signing if Chelsea were to pursue a move this summer. He's got plenty of experience at an elite level and fits the profile of players that the Blues have targeted in recent seasons."
