An eight-year-old boy has said he felt like he was on an 'plane' as he and his trampoline were launched 20 feet into the sky by a gust of wind.
The parents of Jake Smith, from Herriman,, are calling it a “miracle” that he is alive after he ended up in a road having gone out into the garden to play on a trampoline at a relatives house. Incredibly he came away from the without any serious . “It happened so fast, without any warning,” mum Shellie Smith said.
“My little boy flew up over two cinder block walls and curved around and then landed in the street.” And Jake described the experience as being “like an aeroplane with no roof” as he found himself in the road and the youngster actually thought the whole thing was a dream to begin with.

“I said, ‘No, son, this wasn’t a dream, this was very real,'” said Shellie. “He was able to tell me his name, his age and everything, like nothing happened.”
As a precaution he was taken to hospital where he had a CT scan which did not find any serious injury from what happened and he was able to go home having suffered just minor scratches and mild concussion.
“The trauma department was like, ‘You don’t usually get this outcome in situations like this,'” Shellie told . And with Jake’s parents calling his experience a “miracle” they are now warning other parents of the dangers of how trampolines can get blown away.
“I know that there were angels protecting my little boy, because they caught him,” Shellie said. “The fact that he’s here with me today is a complete miracle.” She added: “If you have a trampoline, get it bolted to the ground, because it can happen in seconds.”

It comes as during Storm Eowyn in January this year. While clearly more than just a gust, strong winds led to the trampoline fly down streets in Barlanark.
The incident in came as a 'danger to life' warnings were shared in the UK due to gusts hitting 90mph on January 24.
